Soccer America notes Beadling Centenary
In an extensive article in Soccer America Dan Woog discusses the Beadling Centenary, its history, and present success. He notes in an age when many youth clubs form, flourish and then flounder in about the time it takes for a president's child to move through the ranks, Beadling is "different."
The article draws from the Centenary book -"a professional-looking 84-page commemorative book" which "celebrates in words and pictures Beadling's many acomplishments - not only in soccer, but also what the mining company, for whom the club is named, has meant to the neighbourhood and city"
Woog quotes at length from an interview with Denny Kohlmyer noting the strength that the club draws from its roots while at the same time looking to the future by extensive travel to find competition which is going to make the teams better.
The article was carried in the March 29 issue on page 62 as part of The Youth Soccer Letter. Soccer America's web site is www.socceramerica.com.
