Beadling Coaching Staff 2010-2011

The Beadling Soccer Club's Coaching Staff is dedicated to the development of not only quality soccer players but also quality people in our community. The commitment and efforts of the people listed below are a true indication of the leadership and direction that the Beadling Soccer Club gives to their players. With the guidance of our staff, we hope that all the players from the Beadling “family” strive to reach all their goals.
The new Beadling coaching model provides our players with the opportunity to be instructed by four head coaches and numerous assistants throughout their careers with the Beadling Soccer Club.

President:

Denny Kohlmyer - Club President; Senior Staff Member; Head Coach for the U16 Girls. Mr. Kohlmyer is the President of the Beadling Soccer Club as well as the head coach of the U15 and U19 girls teams. He is a Beadling alum who played collegiately at the University of Pittsburgh . He has coached and been a soccer focus at all levels in Pittsburgh for over 30 years. Director of Soccer Operations:

Weston Hawley – Director of Soccer Operations, the Beadling Jr’s Director and Director of Goalkeeper Coaches; Senior Staff Member; Head Coach for the U17 Boys and U14 Girls. He was the men’s soccer coach at La Roche College for 10 years, named 2007 AMCC Collegiate Coach of the Year and 2007 PA West Classic League Coach of the year. He was a PA West State Olympic Development Program; (ODP) coach for 7 years. He holds a USSF National, NSCAA Advanced National and NSCAA Goal Keeping Licenses. Assistant Director of Soccer Operations:

Barry Bimbi – Assistant Director of Soccer Operations, U14 boys coach, Assistant Women’s Coach at the University of Pittsburgh, was an Assistant coach at Marquette University from 2002/05 and was a staff member of the Milwaukee Soccer Club. Barry holds a USSF “A” License. Barry played his collegiate career at St. Francis University.

Staff Coaches:

Erik Duffy – Senior Staff Member; Head Coach for the U15 and U19 Girls. Mr. Duffy is a Beadling alum who played collegiately at the University of Pittsburgh . He has been a member of the Beadling Coaching Staff since 1996. Mr. Duffy works as a pharmaceutical salesman. erikduffy@yahoo.com

Arne Thomas – Senior Staff Member; Assistant Coach for the U15, and U18 Girls. Mr. Thomas is a Beadling alum who attended Notre Dame University for his undergraduate and then the University of Pittsburgh Dental School for his graduate degree. Mr. Thomas has been a head coach and an assistant coach in the Beadling Soccer Club since 1985. He currently serves as the head of the Senior Staff for the Beadling Soccer Club. Gary Weber –Senior Staff; Head Coach for the U18 Boys. Mr. Weber is the Head Coach at Chartiers Valley High School . He has been a member of the Beadling Coaching Staff since 2000. He was the former head coach at Carlynton High School . Mr. Weber holds a USSF “C” License and played his collegiate soccer at Mercyhurst College. gwweb@comcast.net

Missy DalBon - Head Coach for the U11 girls. Mrs. DalBon is a Beadling alum who attended West Virginia University . This is Mrs. DalBon's second year as an assistant coach on the Beadling staff. She is also currently an assistant coach for the PA West 1995 Girls ODP Team and is the girls assistant coach at Canon McMillan high school. Mrs. DalBon holds her USSF “C” License and is a school teacher in the Canon McMillan School District . dalbonm@cmsd.k12.pa.us

Brian Zura – Head Coach for the U12 Boys. Mr. Zura played collegiately at Florida International University . He has been an assistant coach for the Beadling staff since 2005. He begins his first year as a head coach for the Beadling staff. He has worked with youth soccer teams in Pittsburgh for the past eight years. He was the former assistant boys coach at Quaker Valley High School . Mr. Zura has his USSF “B” coaching license. He works as a sales representative. bzsoccer10@comcast.net

Steve Thomas – Assistant Coach for the U14 Boys. Mr. Thomas is a Beadling alum who begins his second year on the Beadling staff. He works as an orthopedic surgeon in Pittsburgh . Mr. Thomas played and was a captain at Brown Universtiy. sjtlgt@comcast.net

Jon Conner – Assistant coach for the U17 Boys. Mr. Conner attended and played at Lock Haven University from 1973-1977; played on the Lock Haven University 1977 National Championship team. He begins his second year on the Beadling staff. Mr. Conner has been a head coach for the boys at Hampton High School from 1990-1994 and then the head coach for the boys at Pine Richland High School from 1994-2002, 2008-present. Lesley Kohlmyer - Assistant Coach for the U16 Girls. Lesley is a Beadling alum who attended and played at Wheeling Jesuit University and played one year at Robert Morris University while attending graduate school. She was a National All-American player while at Wheeling Jesuit University . She has been a Beadling Coaching Staff member since 2000. Dave Kovalcik – Head Coach for the U16 Boys. Mr. Kovalcik is a Beadling alum who attended and played collegiately at Duquesne University . He then went on to play professionally for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. He begins his fourth year with the Beadling Coaching Staff. He was a former member of the PAWest State ODP Boys Coaching Staff for 5 years. Mr. Kovalcik works as a school teacher. davekovalcik2002@yahoo.com

Matt Bahr – Assistant Coach for the U16 Boys. Mr. Bahr attended and played collegiately at Penn State University . He went on to play in the NASL and then was a professional kicker in the NFL. He has been a head coach and an assistant coach for the Beadling staff since 2004. mdbahr@verizon.net

Gregg Day – Head Coach for the U17 Girls. Mr. Day attended and played collegiately at Evansville University . He has been a head coach and an assistant coach for the Beadling staff since 2001. Sean Alden – Head Coach for the U18 Girls. A native of Norwich, England. Sean has been coaching youth soccer in the US and Canada since 2001. He holds a USSF “D” License.

Sean McCarthy- Sean is the Head coach of our U15 Boys and is the Head Men’s and Women’s coach at Waynesburg University. Sean has a NSCAA National Coaching Diploma. Sean played his collegiate soccer at Elizabethtown and SUNY Old West Bury.

Ron Lupori – Is the head coach for the U11 Boys. He has coached Select Level Soccer, high school and College since 1988. Ron played and was a four year starter at California University of PA, he holds a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

Adam Minnaugh – is the head coach of the U11 Girls. Adam played at La Roche College.

Joe Lucas - Head coach for the U-13 Boys. Played collegiately at Duquesne University. Member of the Beadling Jr's staff. Assistant coach at Chartiers Valley High School. High School teacher within the Chartiers Valley School District.

Abbie Burns – Head coach for the U12 girls. Abbie played her collegiate career at Duquesne University. Coach Abbie holds a USSF National “D” License. Abbiej21@gmail.com

Aaron Wawrzyniak – Is the Assistant Coach for the U13 Girls, he was on the PA West ODP and Soccer Leaders staff coach from 2003 – 2007, the men’s and women’s Assistant Coach at the University of Pittsburgh/Greensburg from 2000 – 2003 and is currently the Head Girls Coach at Chartiers Valley High School. He holds a USSF “C” License.

Ryann Bradley – Assistant Coach for the U14 Girls; Boys Goalkeeper Coach. Mr. Bradley attended and played collegiately at Bethany College . After his collegiate career, Mr. Bradley worked as an Operations Manager for the Super Y League with United Soccer Leagues (2003) and played in the PDL for the West Virginia Chaos (2004). During 2005 and 2006, Mr. Bradley was the Assistant Coach at Seton Hill University . He was a former coach with the PFC soccer program. Ron Wilcher – Assistant Coach for the U18 Boys. Mr. Wilcher has been a head coach and an assistant coach with the Beadling staff since 1988. He is the Mt. Lebanon High School boys head coach. He was a former Director of Coaching for the PAWest State ODP Program as well as a former head coach for the PAWest State ODP program. He works as a school teacher. rwilcher@mtlsd.net

Goal Keeping Staff :

Buffy Biernesser – Buffy is the head of our goal keepers. This is her 4th year working with the goalkeepers. Ms. Biernesser played collegiately at Bethany College . She coached the Trinity High School Varsity team for 9 years. She is an active coach and clinician that has worked throughout the Pittsburgh area at all levels for the past 20 years. Ms. Biernesser holds a National Goalkeeping Diploma from the NSCAA. Ms. Biernesser is a 6th grade teacher and she owns her own camps and clinics. biernesserb@comcast.net

Jay Kapusta – Jay played his youth soccer for the Beadling Soccer Club and his collegiate soccer at the University of Pittsburgh. Jay has been coaching youth and high school soccer for the last 10 years.

Aaron Wawrzyniak – Is the Assistant Coach for the U13 Girls and is a member of our goal keeping staff. He was on the PA West ODP and Soccer Leaders staff coach from 2003 – 2007, the men’s and women’s Assistant Coach at the University of Pittsburgh/Greensburg from 2000 – 2003 and is currently the Head Girls Coach at Chartiers Valley High School. He holds a USSF “C” License.

Juniors Staff:

Al Lopus – Al has coached in the Beadling organization since 1994. He coached the Beadling 79/80 Boys team to eight state championships -- the first PA West team to win the state championship every year from U12 through U19. That team also advanced to the Eastern Regional semi-finals four times. Al next coached the Beadling 86/87 Boys team, which won five state championships, advanced to the Eastern Regional finals twice and the semi-finals once. That team finished its U18 year ranked #6 in the nation by National Soccer Rankings. Al has been involved in the Beadling Juniors program for the past three years. Al's former players have gone on to play in the MLS, the NFL and Major League Baseball. He played at the University of Pittsburgh for four years, where he was a three-time member of the Big East All-Academic team, as well as a finalist for the Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.

John Lopus – Player: Beadling SC ‘72 team. Member of Peters Twp High School Team which won 1988 and 1989 PIAA State and WPIAL Championships. Co-captain of 1989 team. University of Pittsburgh 4 year letter winner 1991-1994 Coach: Beadling ‘80s (4 years) Beadling JRs Program (2009-2010) Peters Township travel and in house (6 years).

Neil Kohlmyer – Neil has been a product of Beadling since birth, playing his youth soccer for the club, the club has been a part of his family for 4 generations.

Adam Minnaugh – is the head coach of the U11 Girls. Adam played at La Roche College

Toni Belfiore – Tony has been coaching youth soccer for the past 13 years. He played select level soccer while growing up. He was recruited by several schools to play and decided to concentrate on academics in college. Tony holds a USSF “D” Licenses.

Lauren Engle – Lauren played for Beadling from U12 – U20, as well as a member of the ODP program. She played her collegiate soccer at the University of Pittsbugh.

Kayla Frost – Kayla played for the Beadling Soccer Club from U12 – U19, she played her collegiate soccer at Penn State-Behrend, where she was a 4 year starter and a 3 time AMCC all-conference player.
