Beadling Alum Meghan Schnur continues as key player for UConn Huskies
Meghan Schnur, currently a junior mid-fielder, for the Huskies has been earning accolades since her freshmen year when when she won recognition as Big East Co-Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Big East First Team. At the end of her junior year, she was ranked as among the top 10 players in the BIG EAST thanks to her 18 points and seven goals. Other post-season awards earned at the end of 2006 by Schnur include being selected as a member of the ALL-BIG EAST First Team and being named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year as well as an NEWISA All-New England First Team selection, a Soccer Buzz All-Region First Team honoree, a member of the NSCAA/Adidas All-Northeast Region First Team, an NSCAA/Adidas College Women Scholar All-East Region First Team selection and she was named to the NSCAA/Adidas College Women Scholar All-America Team. In recognition of that honor, Schnur is invited to join fellow All-Americas from the youth, high school and college ranks to be honored during the All-America Awards Luncheon at the Indianapolis Marroitt on Saturday, January 13th, 2007.
